So where have I been?

I've been tearing out my hair. It's been fun, but extremely tiring. Still, not nearly as stressful as Conceptual Illustration (at least not at this particular moment).

I still don't have much to show for this quarter, though I've got some fun sketches to show you guys once I scan them. Storyboarding Club on top of classes has kept me very busy, but at least I don't have to dog around with any Senior Films at the moment.

On a side note: Cars. Oh my gosh, CARS. So fun to cartoon. Not at all fun to draw normally.

But that'll have to wait.

Anyway, some fairly crappy inks (at least a crappy scan of some okay inks).

And a poster I made for a Club Challenge.

Should make posters more often really, it's been the only truly "fun" thing this quarter aside from some stupid sketchbook drawings.

'Till whenever I have some more to show everyone!

This week in progress:

So finished pencils are happening right now, but I'll show you guys my tight roughs for these things:

(Note: Since these I have changed several things, so the finals are going to look different.)
Sooooo for the next so many days I'll be finishing these.

This isn't the only work I've been doing but all my stuff for speed sketching sort of spans about 100 pages of work right now, and a fair amount of it is kind of awful.

I don't have much else to say right just yet, so till next time!

First Week Done, WOOOOH!

It's like that part in The Lord of the Rings where Frodo and co. leave the Shire and then two minutes later the Black Riders have ridden them down. Where's the elves when I need them? Or a creepy Tom Bombadil?

So, kind of a bad idea taking Visual Storytelling and Speed Sketching together.
And then some surprise Senior Film work...
And other things.

Actually, Easter was surprisingly fun aside from the all-nighter. Parents took me to Outback, and the waitress issued this epic coaster tower challenge. Naturally (after 30 odd attempts), I won. Well, I actually didn't get it as tall as the waitress challenged (I'm one card tier too short), but I spent well over an hour working on the thing when most people sort of give up after 5 minutes so I bagged a free dessert.
And our food was delayed for a ridiculous amount of time, so the manager gave our table free desserts anyway. Funny how life works out.

BUT, still managing alright after the first week. I swear, it feels more like it's been 3 weeks. It's going to be a rough quarter.

Here's my first assignments from Vis, all pretty rough. I'm going to be reamed for the tight roughs being as loose as they are, but I'm running on fumes here and it's almost time to "wake up". There'll be time for cleaning up later.

So there went Spring Break.

Wait, what Spring Break? I don't think there ever was a Spring Break, and quite frankly, I find the notion absurd.

But during this thing that didn't happen, I accomplish very little, so it's a good thing it never happened at all.

Some of these are old and as such predate this thing called Spring Break.

Does anyone else think Spring Break is just the eye of the storm?

So, my production book and final animation. Both are in desperate need of doctoring, but that'll have to wait.   Enjoy!

I'm sure I'm not the only one not sleeping.

At least ten of you other people are not sleeping (you some odd people reading my blog, not SCAD in general where 85% of people aren't sleeping at the moment).

I'm just going to dump stuff now. Do I have more: no. Should I have more: definitely.

I really just like the word "Bandwagon"

So, not much... but here's more from Conceptual Illustration. This is my last week doing layouts for "Danza de los Muertos" for now, so that should make things easier I hope. It's been a tiring week, for everyone I know really, and I'm hoping it'll wrap up nicely instead of worse.

To be very honest with you guys, I am not satisfied with these. The bag maybe, but definitely not the chopsticks and the car. I don't know why, but this part just struck me as boring (odd because I love working on assets). Props are just... kind of dull. Felt the same way in Environment and Props. Environments and Assets are just ten times more fun to me.

I'm almost entirely sure I'm going to redesign Panini based off her original final design ("9" in a previous post). There's so much I want to do with this but I need more time. Time is just the one thing I'm not going to get more of.

Bandwagon

Panini's Bag

Chopsticks

I'll be posting something new sometime later this week, so cheers!
