Totally Worth it.

As always, things kind of ground to a halt while I settled back here at school. I'd post everything, but it would be an enormous pain for me to do, and even more painful for you to look through (drawings tend to pile up with two storyboarding classes). Here's some Star Wars and a fun video though!

It's been a while, again.

Yeah it's been a pretty long while.

I admit it, I caught some summertime blues. Coming off a spring quarter grind can really floor a person. Or at least it floored me. I've been doing small things though (like a little job, and working on a mini-webcomic, and a dozen other things).

Anyway, here's the only things I can show you guys, since the rest is for a short film and a book.

This is fanart for the Achievement Hunters, a group of really terrible and funny guys Let's Playing "Minecraft".

This is crap. It's kind of a rough draft for something else. The hand is weird and yeah, but it's from a collab I'm doing with this awesome artist named Melissa Malec. We're going to be making a sweet music video thing together and you might never see it but we'll see.

And this is what I'm most excited about. I'm working on the script, and I've decided I'll be doing four 10-page installments of this. Thiiiiis is my short webcomic I'm working on, Discord.

The Summer Journey

Well, I've posted about this everywhere else already, I think it's time to drop it here as well.

Over this summer, I'll be working on this project I'm calling the Summer Journey. It's about a traveler who explores the land of Summer. It's kind of a concept art/comic art combination, so there should be plenty to post here.

I've got a couple of key goals: better character designs, awesome backgrounds with personality, finished mini comics, and collaborative stuff.
So if anyone wants to collaborate, I'm over here all summer.

Any critique is welcome; I'm really looking to improve.

Let's see how this goes.

Was going to ink these for it as well, but it's halfway into tomorrow morning and I've hardly finished a single page. It'll have to wait.

POTTERCEPTIONNNN

It feels like Inception right now. Everything is sort of fuzzing in and out, then the windows explode and water comes in and makes a huge mess and I get tossed into a bathtub.

And I think I'm starting to annoy everyone with my constant exhaustion so that'll hopefully stop soon... maybe? I don't know. Just writing this makes me feel guilty because of the wall of work I still have to do. It keeps assaulting me with its laser-guilt-vision from the corner of my room. Nothing will placate it. Nothing.


How do people even manage life at SCAD sometimes? I think the really successful and well-slept people here have time-turners.

Yeah, we just went Prisoner of Azkaban on this blog.
Oh, SNAPE. (You get it? 'Cause Snape is 'snap' without the E? No? Oh...)

Here is what I've managed in to accomplish this week. It's Simpsons/Bartman if you're curious.

 I'm desperately rushing on getting the pencils done so I won't be catching up on anything else... BUT at least I think I'll be getting the pencils done sometime before class. Maybe. (No, I'm pretty sure I will.)

Anyways, I'm kind of zombie-ing my way through life at the moment, so no new fun personal work for the rest of the quarter most likely. Unless I manage to squish something into Speed Sketching.... that might work.  Ha ha, figuring out my life through a blog, great habit to get into, you should try it.

Just keep swimming guys, especially you guyss in a similar situation right now. Yeah, you know yourselves.

(You ever reread your writing and have the distinct impression a 12 year old wrote it? Drives you crazy, doesn't it?)

So where have I been?

I've been tearing out my hair. It's been fun, but extremely tiring. Still, not nearly as stressful as Conceptual Illustration (at least not at this particular moment).

I still don't have much to show for this quarter, though I've got some fun sketches to show you guys once I scan them. Storyboarding Club on top of classes has kept me very busy, but at least I don't have to dog around with any Senior Films at the moment.


On a side note: Cars. Oh my gosh, CARS. So fun to cartoon. Not at all fun to draw normally.

But that'll have to wait.

Anyway, some fairly crappy inks (at least a crappy scan of some okay inks).

And a poster I made for a Club Challenge.

Should make posters more often really, it's been the only truly "fun" thing this quarter aside from some stupid sketchbook drawings.

 Sooooo for the next so many days I'll be finishing these.

This isn't the only work I've been doing but all my stuff for speed sketching sort of spans about 100 pages of work right now, and a fair amount of it is kind of awful.
